Sweet Or Stinging? How Do your words taste?  The extreme importance of our words can be found in Mathew 12:36 We are told that we will give account on the day of judgment for every careless word we have spoken. Let’s think about that for just a moment. What words have you spoken today? Were they careless or uplifting? Will you be glad and thankful to stand before God and Repeat them?

All of us at one time or another have heard the phrase I am a man of my word. We hear this and the speaker is trying to convey to us an understanding that if he tells you something
consider it done. If a person wants to actually be a man or woman of integrity their words must be infallible. Otherwise, they are just another cheap talker. Knowing this we understand that You and I are only as good as our words. So how do we ensure that we are people of our word.

Listen.
Let’s look at Scripture, In the book of Mathew starting with Chapter 15 verse 10. ” When he had called the multitude to himself he said to them HEAR AND UNDERSTAND.” I want to add a side note here. A lot of times we hear but we don’t understand. It is far far greater that we understand God’s word than just to be able to quote verses. It is when we understand and apply God’s word that it becomes a living part of our being.  The word of God is more than ink on paper. Jesus said in John 6:63 “It is the spirit who gives life the flesh profits nothing, The words that I Speak to you they are spirit and they are life.”

Now Getting back to Mathew 15 let’s look at verse 11 “Not what goes in the mouth defiles a man but what comes out of the mouth, this defiles a man.”
In Conclusion we choose whether we want to be defiled our undefiled, Therefor it is in our own best interest to choose our words wisely!
